I have been wanting to blog about our trip to Guanajuato over the Christmas/New Year break, but I haven't been able to go through the pictures yet without tearing up. The Sherwoods came with us and it was Tyson's last week here with us on earth. It is hard to not still feel so sad. But I am learning that it is not suffer and then move on. Nor is it grieve and then heal. But it is suffer while moving on, grieve while healing. That we are meant to experience this grief in full, because how much greater will our joy be when it is finally eased. We love this family so much.

Taken in Guanajuato (December 30th, 2009)
But I was remembering back to that week before in Guanajuato. Josh and Amanda had gone to visit the mummy museum (for which Guanajuato is famous), and I watched Zach and Ty. I took all the boys to the playground at the hotel we were staying at. While my boys and Zach were busy playing Power Rangers, Ty was content to just watch them play fight and eat the tube of Pringles I'd brought with us. The whole tube. Munch, munch, munch. After he finished the little stack in his hand, he'd look at me with his big, blue eyes and make his little sign for "more" (finger to the palm of his opposite hand) while saying, "Moh, moh, moh!" How could I deny that face, that desperation for more? Irresistable. And how would I tell Amanda that I'd let her son eat the whole tube of Pringles? I decided I wouldn't. That it would be me and Ty-ty's little secret. So... well... oh well. And now I have no regrets.
Today we celebrate the most powerful of emotions: love. The greatest of which comes from a Father in Heaven who loves His children. We are His children. He loves me. He loves you. He loves Amanda and Josh. He loves little Ty-ty. He loves us more than we will ever comprehend in this life. He loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins and open the gateway for us to eternal life, if we are faithful. Eternal life with Him. Eternal life with our loved ones. There is no greater gift.
Happy Valentine's Day, dear friends. May your lives be full of sweet love and pure joy. xoxo.
p.s. I think Bruce might finally be done... I'm off to see what he's up to.

wiping tears. clearing throat.
Thank you for this. I've always thought to post something about little Ty, but the words just don't come. Thanks for expressing how I feel- you are much better at it than I am.
Ditto what Angie said. You say it so perfectly. Thank you.
Seriously...you should be an author. I love the way you describe things. Josh and I are sitting here cracking up because that is Tyson to a T. Man, how I miss that kid. And man, how I am going to miss you. Thanks for all your cute posts about our family.
P.S. You are forgiven for the pringle incident. I know how well those blue eyes, his sign language, and his desperate 'moh' can work. He ate way too many M & M's in his little life because he pulled those same tricks on me.
dude ANSWER YOU PHONES!
