The Irony Behind One Pic

Nevermind, Aud. I found one. Notice how I'm making a direct reference to you as you are the only one reading this blog...

So I did find a picture of me and Bruce. A terrible one. Taken by this South African guy while we were in Hong Kong. Do you think he tried to get the mangy dog in the pic on purpose? When I look at this pic, I can't help but wonder if this was some sort of representation of his actual feelings about Americans. Did he giggle to himself as he looked through the camera lens? He seemed to assert a little too strongly to Bruce and I that he thought George Bush was "one helluva guy".

So I want to tell you about this South African guy in Hong Kong. I wish I had a pic of him. He went on this tour with us - some tour of the biggest Buddha in the world - and Bruce and I kept looking over at him as he was the one white guy of the group. Don't ask me why, but we felt this affinity for him. I guess 'cause he was white and it made us think of "home". Or maybe it was that he had this whole Crocodile Dundee look going on. Hat and everything. So there we were... a couple of Asians hanging out in Hong Kong, feeling a sense of "belonging" with a white South African guy because he reminded us of Americans. Isn't it ironic, don't you think? A little TOOO-ooooo ironic... (just sing it already).

Missing Evidence

This is so sad. I was looking for pictures of just me and Bruce together and this is the most recent one. Firstly, this is like a baby and a half ago (Luke is about 8 months old here). Secondly, it's not just me and Bruce. Sad. On the other hand, Luke looks just like Makenna here. Cute.

To encourage attendance through the holidays in my gym classes, I had the members put in special requests for the songs they wanted to hear during their workout. If I played their special request while they were in class, they won a CD, burned by yours truly, of just a few of my favorite Christmas songs. It sounds a little vain when I put that in type... but hey, why wouldn't they want to win a CD of all my favorite Christmas songs???

Happy Birthday, Danielle! I miss my beautiful and talented sister. Here she is... in her element. I wish I had bigger files of these, but I can't find them on my computer.

"Blagging" and Odd vs. Even

I got sucked in. I have a blog. I am now blogging... or what I affectionately refer to as blagging. But it couldn't be helped. This is so much easier than sending out email updates and sharing snapfish photos. And who knew life could get easier than that? Plus, I'm saving so much money on stamps and paper accessories.

I post these three pictures to show that someone always gets left out when there's odd numbers involved. I'm not saying I will have another child. I'm just saying the numbers don't look good. I think even numbers sound and look a lot cuter than odd ones. Just saying.
