favorite bedtime routine

Dance party with MJ.

Some were half-nakey, some were fully costumed, and some were a bit hesitant to join the booty-shaking... but not for long.

remember nicolas?

See him brand new here. See him now. What a difference a month makes. Alert and not at all sleepy. Not ever sleepy, according to Laura. And she shaved his head! I said, "Que paso??" And she said, "No habia demasiado pelo!" There was too much hair.

Proof that babies can get away with anything. These neck rolls on a 40-year-old man would send me screaming to the hills.

Photobucket

But on little 4-week-old men, you just wanna nibble, nibble.

I documented the yawn for Laura. Proof that he does get sleepy even if he doesn't always fully commit.

Laura has christened me Nicolas' private photographer. I am okay with that.

today

Bruce and I watched the boys in their Halloween parade at school. L insisted on being a pumpkin and B wanted to be a Star Wars Clone Trooper but had to settle for El Mystico. Who is El Mystico? Think Mexico's version of WWF but with more acrobatics and more midgets. El Mystico is their fave. And if you like watching beefy, sweaty guys somersault around in their skivvies, throwing around midgets, well... then we'll find someone to take you if you come visit.

Rock it, B.

The sixth graders tell me L is the most popular kid at school. I believe it. He is free entertainment and loves an audience. Trouble.

I went to an Enrichment activity this morning. Or are we calling them RS meetings now? I didn't have time to make and bring something (due to all the parading beforehand), but I sure ate a lot of what everyone else brought.

M and I danced and twirled to this song before naptime. I love her attempts at an arabesque.

I ran three-and-a-half miles during B's futbol practice. At least I think it was three-and-a-half. It's hard to tell because all the markers are in meters and I'm lazy about the math.

B told me he loved me and then asked me why moms and dads love their kids so much. I told him that when he has a baby someday he'll know why.

Last night's episode of Glee downloaded onto my iTunes and I watched it. I told friends how much I love this show. And how I want to marry this show. And how I want to sing like Lea Michele and wear tube socks. But last night's episode was a little meh. So I had to go back and rewatch this part in the Vitamin D episode to remind me why I love it so. (Sorry, no actual footage available. Just download it already.)

Favorite. Total favorite.

weekend visit with ye-ye

It was like the kids were high on ecstasy all weekend. They could hardly contain their limbs and body parts from bouncing off the walls. And the pushups and situps Bruce made them do were futile. Totally futile.

Ye-ye got in Friday afternoon and we made our way to B's futbol game. B is number 6, by the way.

L and all his love.

All serious about the game. They are six, dude. Six.

Saying goodnight to Ye-ye was a huge production each night.

Photobucket

Eeesh. Had to turn on my flash for these ones (which is like against my religion), thanks to the heinous lighting of my apartment.

Photobucket

What the heck. Here's two more for the Lolas, Papas, Tutus and Ye-yes. Does anyone go by Grandma or Grandpa anymore? Not the cool ones, I guess. Obviously.

We miss you already, Ye-ye! Come back soon!

tasco

Post-edit: But it's really Taxco. Thank you, Angie, for pointing this out. Obviously, I am tired today.

I'm too lazy right now to explain or organize and edit these pictures properly. And also I need to go to the grocery store as we are dangerously low on milk. But all you need to know is that Bruce's dad came to visit us this weekend (very fun!) and we went to Tasco on Saturday. In a throwback to Aztec times, various cities and pueblas surrounding Mexico City are known for different types of wares, such as talavera pottery or onyx or wood. Tasco is a city located on the side of a mountain and home to silver mines. A place where you will find very beautiful silver located in markets situated along its streets for a minimal amount of pesos. Tan fabulosa!

And also, these Mexican catholic churches scare me a little. All the heads...
