I think it started with Glee. The actor who plays Finn reminds me of another sleepy-eyed football boy I used to date in high school but not in a fond, that-was-sweet kind of way because remembering that boy sort of makes me ill. (You know those ones.) But then when you start thinking back to your adolescence, sometimes all sorts of memories come flooding to the surface.
Like the time I made a t-shirt at girls' camp when I was twelve with the words "Life's a beach" written across the front in acrylic paint. And then every time I wore it, people would make snarky comments like, "Oh yeah. I know what you were really trying to say." And you know, I didn't have the faintest idea what they thought I was really trying to say. Because I was twelve and really meant, Life's a beach.
The innocence of youth.
So friends, I aim to be better at posting this week. Ebb and flow, ebb and flow...

when i ran for student government in high school, my poster said, "for a beachin' year, vote erin." beach, as in the OTHER "beach." i was so edgy.
glee is good. i wanna join a choir.

oh, melissa. this is the hard thing about knowing someone all your life... they also know all your trash. but let's not say his name aloud here, please. we don't want him googling himself and finding my blog. gross.
