blue bonnets, or the one where i'm freaking out about rattlesnakes attacking my baby

While hanging out with Kathryn one morning, she said, "Let's go take pictures in the blue bonnets!" Now, I'd seen somewhere on Instagram (legit source of information) something about how rattlesnakes like to hang out in blue bonnet fields, so I was like, "Yeah... no. That's okay." She said, "That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!" (Referring to the whole rattlesnakes in blue bonnets thing.) And since I succumb easily to peer pressure and her magic behind a lens, I was on board three seconds later.

Six hours later, she was sending me a report on how rattlesnakes do, in fact, like to hang out in blue bonnet fields. There's a Sunday School lesson in this... anyway, yay for blue bonnets and once-in-a-lifetime experiences! Because we are never doing pictures in blue bonnets again. Ever.

On a more positive note, real friends cut your baby's hair when you're too lazy to do it yourself. Even when they're like 14 weeks pregnant and wanting to vomit all over your baby while he's screaming bloody murder and their own 18-month-old is crying in proxy anger in the background over cut hairs. You're a good one, K.

my little garden gnomes

My blog is just embarrassing now. And today I've only got crappy iPhone photos for you. Not gonna stress about it...

But what's new with us? These dudes planted the other day during their spring break and M likes to pose hard for every picture nowadays. Just focus the lens her way and she's got an automatic crick in her neck. Love that girl.

Testing, testing

Check one, two. I'm using the iPhone blogger app for the first time. If this goes well, this could potentially resurrect my blog. Or not. Let's not get our hopes up or anything.

We are deep in the throes of spring break around here. We have a tv (but no cable...used to be because we were poor students and now it's just out of habit...someone did ask us if we were Amish once...). Anyway, they still insist on watching downloaded cartoons on B's very tiny iPod touch screen. We don't understand it, but it keeps them quiet for long, inappropriate stretches of time.
