angie, ben & co.

My dear friend Angie asked me to take a few pics of her family the other day. For all you professionals who cringe in horror at my photo-taking abilities, fear not. I do not charge for mediocrity. And anyway, I could never be a professional photographer, because I only like to photograph pretty people. I am prejudiced like that. But I need to take a class (or five). And I need a better lens (or two). Recommendations welcome below.

So, Ang. Thanks for the practice. Thanks for being adorable. Thanks for making beautiful babies. I had a lot of fun.

Things started to get a bit frisky there at the end, so I knew it was time to high tail it out of there. Oo-la. By the way, Angie is six feet tall and Ben is like six-foot-five or something whereabouts. All four-foot-eleven of me sort of feels like a pygmie when I am around them. Everytime we leave their house, B is like, "Mom, why are you small? Why are you like the smallest mama? Did you not eat when you were growing up?" But how great is it that she still wears some rocking heels? Love this girl.

You SHOULD charge for your services- you do such a great shot. Of course... I didn't want to tell you that BEFORE you took the pictures! And a million thanks for not putting any boob shots in.

And a question- What woman doesn't feel sexy in heels?

These are great, Noelle.

And I like chatting cameras/lenses if you're ever interested. Although I'm a Canon girl. You're Nikon, no? We can still be friends.

When are you coming to NY? I need details. Camp Burton provided a few.

my dear kathryn, i have a canon rebel xsi. i am partial to canon and all it's user-friendliness. it works well for an amateur like me, but i want some new lenses, because i'm greedy like that. tell me what you have! and let's chat - in nyc! we'll for sure be there by december 1st. let's meet for lunch or something. can you email me your phone number? we'll see you soon!

I think you are an awesome photographer!! I love the pictures you take. Speaking of pics, sorry I haven't taken any of Brooke's kids. I keep forgetting the camera every time we go over. I reminded her to send you some though, so hopefully she did. I'll try to remember. =)

Noelle - love the pics...

All I know is white is very hard to photograph, and digital lenses make it even more difficult - and there is more distortion - there is a certain effect and i'm too tired to remember the name of it.

although there is nothing better then plain old black and white, - white IS a tricky color to photograph

what is my point? oh ya, when ever we have had big huge wirthlin photoshoots, the photographers (who charge too much and claim to be professionals) tell us "no white!"
