(Also, I love that Bruce is doing what I like to call the 'Asian squat', feet firmly planted, heels to the ground. All Asians can do this. Just ask the next Chinese guy you see. He will be able to do it. Trust me. Genetics, people. I think the Asian race as a whole is abnormally flexible in their hip adductor region. Centuries of martial arts combined with survival of the fittest. The theory is genius in my head.)

If you do achieve the impossible, she is joyous to be around. (Actual pouty face in action.)

Unless you're holding half of a jelly doughnut like I was here. (The white, thin streak is a shamelessly long strand of spittle projecting from her mouth as she runs toward me.)

But generally, when Dad decides to go off and play sports at the ward social...

M will be on the sidelines doing this.

Drama, drama, drama. Life is hard.

whoa. is it just me, or is M starting to look more and more like you?? she's always looked like mom and like bruce to me, but now you're creeping in there more too!!! wow.
the spittle. impressive.
bruce's candid shots. nice. also, is that a fresh hair cut i see? nice.
squatting. it's true. we've taken it for granted--the flexibility, that is, not the squatting. in yoga, even if my ability to cement the poses is not that great, at least my flexibility is there : }
i love seeing the kids. m is getting so long and slim!! the chub is leaving, no more baby. and i love that shirt. i saw it and wanted it too, but now i see i can for sure refrain bc i {belén} will get it soon enough.
love you.
Got down on the ground and tried it. Can't do it. You're right- it must be an Asian thing.
And, by the way, I love the way Ben's hands are situated in the last football picture. I swear he must have been gay in another life or something.
Cracking up...the Asian squat. Fat gardeners can do it too (or maybe it's just because after my knee surgery I couldn't kneel for so long and so I'd spend hours in this same squat) Bruce definately looks more graceful let me tell you!
Too bad we've been sick, we really missed a great time at the ward social. I'm so glad you were there with camera!
Okay, I had to try it too (the squat, of course). No way -- not even close. Love your theory. :-) (And you are so observant -- I would have never even noticed!)
Life with girls is always full of drama, drama, drama! But we love it.
Love the play by play. Just like I was there. Reminds me of the phrase, "My father the hero." Little girls need Dads. So important.
I had to take a pause from commenting to see if I could do the Asian squat. Must have a little Asian in my blood because I completed the transition smoothly. But then again, remember my weird hip/feet stupid human trick?
Jelly doughnut spittle, just like Adam.
Hi Noelle,
I agree with Aud - Makenna is beginning to look like you! Also, on the squat - it is natural - although at my age if I do this for more than a couple of hours in the garden I can't walk the next day - painful.
Hope you all are well. Miss you.
Aunt Marie
audrey and aunt marie - now are you saying she is starting to look like me, because 6 out of the 7 pictures are of her pouting/crying...??? hmmmm.
and aunt marie - we miss you, too!
It's true that M's crying face has become very familiar to us. We'd recognize her anywhere. Her teenage years are going to be your best growth opportunities. And when she's thirty, she'll be one of your bestfriends.
Yep, not Asian...couldn't do it. The real question is...can you? Thanks for making me laugh yet again. Spit picture = awesomeness.
I'm 52, woops 54 and can still do the Asian squat, although it's not as comfortable as it use to be. I highly doubt YeY can do it because he's half haloe :) --- I don't think Makenna looks just like you Noelle but all your kids look more like you than Bruce. love ya.tutu
hmmm...i just don't know if i could handle a girl. i think i'll stick to boys.
You know, I've been thinking how fun it would be to get Izzy & M together, but now I'm not so sure. That much drama & Elizan attitude in one room could be dangerous. Their similarities are unnerving...
I SO need a girl! She's adorable...moods and all.
