model homes

When I was 15 or 16, my mom hired an interior decorator to come to our home for a consultation. She had long, dark, wavy hair and wore an all-white blouse and pants outfit comprised of linen and lace. She billowed through our doorway and throughout our house, fresh, breezy and flowery-scented. I thought she was beautiful. And ever since then, I thought interior decorators were a lovely species.

Since Bruce's parents are in the process of moving to Houston, I tagged along while his dad checked out a few homes. It is so hot outside right now there that you can't walk 10 feet without breaking a serious sweat, so we drove from house to house, though they were 30 feet apart. I love walking through model homes. Lovely, air-conditioned model homes. People are creative.

Houston heat. It's like walking through a sauna fully-clothed. Now I remember why I spent summers here clad all day long in only in a bathing suit.

Cute house. I'm sold. Thank goodness for interior decorators because I'm seriously lacking in that area. Not one of the "talents" the Lord gave to me.
