cycles

As a general rule, after having one perfect afternoon, I think a tough week is usually in order. It's the cycle of life. Opposition in all things. Remember when I said there are times I want to send my kids to the nearest orphanage? La pasada semana would be one of those times. Bruce was out of town, the kids were home from school, and - speaking of cycles - I think I'm coming up on that certain time of the month where I turn into a vengeful, caged tiger. Don't mess with this me. It was a scary turn of events. I threw a pretty rockin' pity party for myself last night. My tantrum was small, comparatively speaking, in terms of what I am truly capable. But I did hit a few pillows and may have a slight fracture in my foot from where I'd kicked the bed frame. I almost gave Bruce a whooping when he asked me if I'd read my scriptures lately, but I restrained myself with superhuman strength.

However, things were looking considerably better in the morning. I could reflect on my week with sleep and a fresh perspective. I realized there were plenty of pleasant moments to be remembered. Like watching B draw the same picture of his heart's greatest desire - a remote control boat for $200 - over and over and over again... M's crazy hair after naptime... the cinnamon-sugar toast picnic on the living room floor... snuggling with L-man during naptime... Halloween festivities... and let's not forget L's half-naked dance for me after pooping in the potty.

So not to worry. Life's good again, I'm back to my chill, appreciative self, and no one's getting sent to an orphanage. Of course, call me in a few days and I might be singing a different hormonal tune.

Hormonal cycles? You are just a babe in cycles, wait until you hit menopause and stay in the hormonal cycle for more than 10 years. :) pam

I like Bryson's drawing and the fact that he put the price tag on it....so funny. Next time you have one of these bad weeks, I want to be around to witness the tantrum....I'm not sure if I believe you're capable of one?! And BTW, such a 'guy' thing to ask--"have you read your scriptures lately???"--Cause that's exactly what you wanted to hear right then...

I'm glad you've made a full recovery! :) See you soon!!

I loved hearing about your tantrum. It helps remind me everyone is real and goes through the same things. =) And their husbands don't always say the right things and the right time too. I think Bruce is lucky to not have had you use your kickboxing moves on him. =) I'm glad you are feeling better!

My cycles are on an hour to hour basis. Tell Bruce I want to hit him for asking about your scripture reading. You are a tough cookie and deserve to punch a few things every once in awhile.

Noelle, i'm seriously peeing my pants reading this...can i just tell you that Brent does the same thing to me. Every once in while when i'm losing it (for a completely justifiable reason if course) after i'm done (or even worse...right in the middle) brent will ask me if "i've read my scriptures lately"...i kid you NOT. what's wrong with them, ...did they learn that in man school..."how to say the wrong thing 101." like because we're overwhelmed with what THEY COULDN'T HANDLE A FRACTION OF, we're all of a sudden unspiritual. seriously...okay i'm over it now, breathe deep.

Congrats on surviving another day. It's days like those that make you want to burn the articles in the ensign about Honor in Motherhood.

I hate that I haven't caught up on your blog before tonight. This week has been way to crazy but after talking to you on the phone I knew exactly where I wanted to start. What a great post and to be honest, before now I don't think I could have even imagined that you ever got into a bad mood!
