twilight schmilight

I have been completely engrossed and all-consumed for the past five days by the following:

Audrey kept telling me I needed to read this. Actually, lots of people kept telling me I needed to read this. People kept talking about it. My mom sent me Audrey's old copy last week. I finally picked it up on Saturday and then I couldn't put it down. I HAD to read all three books in the series as fast as I could. It was an effort to stop for basic personal hygiene moments for myself and the children, and I did my best to thwart starvation among my immediate family members. But all I could think about was Edward. I'm pretty much hot for him.

Brad read my comment and said I could tell you he's hot for Edward as well. He's read all three books, who the heck did I marry?!

I LOVE TWILIGHT!!!! I read all 3 in like a week. I was obsessed with finishing them. Although I do love Edward, who couldn't, I am HUGE Jacob fan. I just can't help it. I love them. Tell Audrey she needs a blog!

i read them all back in july/august. andy and i were on the road/plane a lot, so i finished them all within days--it was pre-twilight craze, so i had only heard of the series from one other person, and i was embarrassed to be reading it. i made sure the cover was hidden at all times... andy kept saying, i can't believe you're so into a vampire book...

speaking of crushes, i like alice :)

oh and one other thing. i have this book called "Words to Live By," a collection of quotes by CS Lewis. It has the same cover as the twilight book--white arms, hands holding apple... Random, no?

I also read the series in a week - I read for about 24 hrs straight on the last one. I was also a bit embarrassed to be reading them, not b/c of the vampire stuff but b/c of the romancey lovey doviness. I wanted to throw the book out the window every time I read "I shuddered as I touched his cool marble chest". Don't shun me for this, but Edward....he's a little brooding and melodramatic for my taste, I'm with Christi, give me Jacob, tall and tan, what's not to love!

I haven't read them yet, and quite frankly I'm a little scared to after I have heard what it does to people :0) It's only a matter of time though I know. I'm sure they are great books.
And where is your birthday post? I guess you got to take the day off eh? But Happy Birthday anyway!
