boat pose

I kid you not, he was going strong with that boat pose for a solid five minutes. I know it's hard to tell, but I think Chubs has some pretty rock hard abs under all that fat.

How sad is it that I continue to stuff him in this teeny, tiny, little bathtub? I think he outgrew it 180 baths ago. I fill it up, put him in, and he displaces all but a teaspoon of water. But I refuse to buy another one. I guess we're only concerned with the semblance of clean these days. See how Mexico and four children have effectively beaten me down and lowered my standards? I no longer possess the will to parent responsibly.

For example, I may have steamed a sweet potato the other day, left it to burn, and then pureed it up anyway to feed my baby. There was, I admit, a more than just slightly strong, smoky (ashy) aftertaste. But in my defense, he loved it.

Then there was that one time last week when I realized I hadn't bathed EZ or even changed his clothes in *cough*three*cough*days. And I only realized it had been three days when I noticed he was still wearing the same pjs to a birthday party on Saturday that he had been wearing to Book Club on Thursday.

Back when I had only one sweet little one to dress and cuddle and feed, this all would have seemed ludicrous. (Who forgets to bathe their child?! Who serves up burnt offerings to a wee babe?!) But I assure you, friends. It's only a matter of time before we all must pick our proverbial battles and submit the rest (e.g., dirty babies, ashy food and ridiculously tiny tubs) as collateral damage. Somehow life goes on.

Do you have to pry him out of that tub when you're done? haha He is so cute. I just want to gnaw on one of those little chubby legs.

I love the toes in action...it must be how he kept himself balanced. He looks so much like you as a baby! Not the chubs part but the face.

He'll be teaching body flow with you before he can crawl. As much as I know you'll miss Mexico, won't it be nice to bath your child in a full size bathtub with bacteria free H2O?

Granted, he'll still probably pee in it, but at least that'll be his own free will and choice.

funny Noelle. Is that what happened to my kids? I remember a teacher asking me if we needed assistance with clothing since Sherman's clothes were always hanging on him. He was just ahead of the times bustin the sag.

Great boat pose, he's a natural. Madeline constantly doing downward dog in an attempt to craw. I'm not sure where she thinks she is going to go in this position.

And, only 3 day between baths...you're way ahead of me. I've had a whole week go by and realized I hadn't bathed Madeline. Can they really get THAT dirty? Okay, yes, they can!

by the way, Coach J is me, Allison. I didn't know I was signed in under his name. Sorry!

Yeah, I can't count how many times I've given Gabi the lazy "wipe" bath instead of real soap & water. Yikes.
