That phrase always makes me want to break out my Les Mis soundtrack.
So I'm panicking. Mostly because Bruce and I cannot decide on a name, and I think it's giving me more heartburn than usual. I told you how earlier in this pregnancy Bruce was campaigning hard for "Pepe" or "Paco", right? I indulged him for a second and then squashed it to smithereens. For one, people back in the States would be calling him "Pee-pee." And two, who can have a heart to heart with a guy named Paco?
Then one day he came home from the temple announcing that his name should be "Santiago." I am not one to question divine inspiration... but please. Heavenly Father knows me better than that. And also maybe the names "Pedro, Santiago and Juan" get repeated a lot during those 90 minutes, know what I'm saying? Never discount the power of tautophony.
So last night, realizing I had less than 36 hours 'til game time, I jumped on Babycenter's namefinder in desperation. And now I think we might have narrowed it down to two names. I probably need to practice yelling them a few more times with a "Get over here!" to see which one rolls off the tongue better when I'm angry, but the final choice just might have to wait until El Burrito makes his debut.
(For the record, "El Burrito" is not one of the choices.)

Seriously. Thank you for this. I needed a good dose of Noe and laughter in my life today. Thanks for giving me both. Good luck with the naming thing. I am still gunning for Rock. That may just have to be his nickname! Best of luck. Let us know when this little bundle of cuteness is here! How I wish I was there with you! Love you.
Spill the 2 names -- but I like the name Santiago, definitely not Paco (wasn't that the name of our bird?)
I wanted to name Sherman "Rockwell" but Phil said he would call him "Rocky" and I only like "Rock" "Rock On" -- but then that is my humor.
Phil also wanted to name Sherman, "Harry Phil On, III" and call him "three"
Names are hard... either their common and the kid hate it because they are too common or they are too different and the kid hates it because they are too different.
sign... the life of a mom.
See you in a few days.
when i was in argentina, a hispanic friend of mine said she one day wanted to name her child "fork" or "spoon." she liked the sound of the english versions of her spanish cuchara and tenedor. haha.
remember when papa suggested you name bryson "brigham"? like "bring'm on"?
and i'm glad you vetoed paco. paco is pretty much like calling your child taco.
shall we nickname this one Rocky just for the heck of it? sounds like everybody else likes it haha. rock onnnn.
bruce better send us a picture ASAP tomorrow. tell him to make it happen.
ahhhh can't wait!!
p.s. this picture is cozy and your hands & nails look perfect : )
i wonder if our kids will remember our motherly hands like i remember mom's. scratching our backs, caressing our hair, and me fascinated with her soft, malleable filipino skin.
how do you know tomorrow's the day. are you being induced...and why didn't i know that before now. it seems like something i should have known...no? names...ughh so hard. brent and i are back and forth all the time. i haven't had much time to think about it, but i think it will be unique this time. there are too many madison's in the world...that i now know.
noey, on a serious note, i'll be praying for you. you and i both know these next few days and weeks are not for the weak. all i'm sayin' is i hope it's the baby in the fetal position crying and not you:) lol. love ya. me
ps. send an email and pics soon.
I'm with Audrey... definitely Rocky. And not Paco. Paco is too unknowing. Paco's personality would be too much like Napoleon Dynamite's mexi friend. You know? Santiago isn't bad though. But be ready to always feel the urge to say that name with gusto. Whatever name you decide to choose will become a name people will love because beautiful children are allowed to have "different" names. You're almost there! Deep breaths!
Can't wait to see pics of the new little burrito! And heaven knows I withhold all judgment if your child goes nameless for a bit...my boys were baby a and baby b until the official birth certificate had to be signed...oh, 10 days later. Good luck!
seriouly this will be the third time i am watching your other kids while you go through this... i say we go with TURNER ON... the will we AWE.. wait for it... SOME
We might have to second Pete.
Turner On, for sure!
so excited for you! names, especially when its your 3rd boy are tough--we just went through that 2 months ago. can't wait to hear all about him!
i have to agree with audrey. . . the first thing i notice was how perfectly manicured your nails were! i'm feeling embarassed just sitting here in privacy over mine.
the only vibe i seem to be getting from this post is that the name must be Nacho Libre. Of course!
The name game can be so complicated. I'm feelin' ya 100%. Jarom and I struggle with this most. Heavenly Father knows us women for sure! All the more reason I was blessed with another boy on the way. (Jarom would have seen his last days with me had he really tried to name our "possible" girl after his old girlfriend. He wasn't budging.)
I have no doubt that you will decide on another handsome name as your other boys.
uh Paco was the name of our last bird. lol
