Blog world, meet EZ... as in "easy." (FYI, this is a nickname, not his real name, and at least it's not Paco.)

He arrived last Friday around 11am. A nice little bundle of 6 pounds, 13 ounces and 20 1/2 inches. (Or here in Mexico, that would be 3.1 kilos and 52.1 centímetros.) We are all, of course, infatuated with him and thrilled to have his little spirit in our midst.

But there was a moment, as I lay naked and strapped to the operating table (I have cesareans), staring into the fluorescent light and just before Bruce said, "What's that burning smell?" that I thought, I will never, ever do this again.

I am done! Finito! Fini! Acabado! No mas! My family feels absolutely complete.

(Please don't let this post jinx me.)

So we are getting used to having a little one in the home again. We came home from the hospital Monday and had an eventful, sleepless night, which I would attribute to a lack of routine and some broccoli I ate earlier that day. But we are now on Day 7 of life, sans broccoli, and things are looking good. And my life is again relegated into 2 1/2 to 3 hour segments. Oh motherhood. You are not for the faint-hearted.

So now I'm a mother of four. Four!?! I am thirty years old and a mother of four. Remember when thirty was ancient and birthing four children seemed like insanity? We were right. But c'est la vie. I wouldn't trade my life for anything. Life is good.

Wahoo! Thanks for updating just for me! : ) However, you forgot a very important picture and I think my husband is going to be forever offended. I think you know which one I am talking about (and for the record, I had nothing to do with it and I am just kidding about posting the darn thing). He is seriously perfection. And, you make me laugh. You have four amazing children and are one wonderful mama!

Oh that little baby boy! I love that content little smile of his. He knows life is good w/ a mama like you.
Wouldn't it be fun (definite lack of better word) if we were living close to each other. Sleepless newborn fun. We could chat over 3 am feedings. Sigh...
Someday we'll get these little ones together.

Love you.
