The 16th of September is El Dia de Independencia here in Mexico. Lots of celebrations happen on both the 15th and 16th. So naturally, we like to stay safely indoors. At the school, the kids had a mini parade and show for the parents. The principal waved the Mexican flag and yelled the "Grito" (Viva Hidalgo! Viva Mexico! Viva Independencia!) as everyone responded with a "Viva!" in return.
Here is B performing a traditional Mexican dance with his little amigos. Please. Heart swell of emotion. Cutest thing ever.
Love that smile on his face -- pure joy! I remember doing dances in elementary school -- sadly, they don't seem to do them much anymore (at least my kids never have done any).

We don't have celebrations like that in the U.S. Mexicans know how to celebrate. How fun for B!
