first day

Well, we kind of missed the actual first day (and really, the whole first week) of school since we inadvertently decided to go to the beach instead. I feel good about that decision.

The night before, backpacks were set out, lunches were made and little notes were written for each of my babes.

Morning of... heading up the stairs of our compound... I mean, apartment complex.

M has no idea what's going on and is looking nervous about the situation...

But apparently the day fue super bien, because someone came home very proud of her school-attending, backpack-toting self.

The closed-eyes smile is purposeful and means amazing, splendid things are happening in her life. Like when she flits around the house half-nakey or someone says yes, you may have some chocolate.

B trotted home a little later than the younger two. I have a second grader! Really, life. Sit down already.

One last manic smile for the camera...

And we're back to the daily grind. Summer is officially over.
