update

Actually, this won't be much of an update. I don't really have time to be waxing poetic on here or anything. But just a couple of things...

For starters, I had a birthday. And we bought a house for my birthday. Well, not officially yet. I mean, it's still under contract, but essentially Bruce went and bought a house without me seeing it yet. I mean, I've seen it online, but I would probably equate that to online dating. Like it may look cute and fun in the pictures, but when we finally meet... well, let's just say I hope it goes well.

Secondly, my friend, Brooke, came into town! We've known each other a long time. Like pre-babies long time. And long enough to know each other's quirks (meaning my quirks) and we still love each other (I think she still loves me). I love how Brooke says whatever she thinks, so I can always count on her to give it to me straight. I also love how we can sit in the same room and not have to talk or entertain each other. Our friendship is effortless. But how lame is this? I took like two pictures the whole weekend. Though apparently she has an excellent blackmail one of me on her camera gorging on tacos al pastor, so I guess that will suffice. Also, I may have gained five pounds while she was here. I am such a social eater, it's terrible. I could live on protein shakes and spinach salad all by my lonesome. But when I start hanging around other humans, all of a sudden I want Ben & Jerry's New York Fudge ice cream all day, every day.

And so I gained five pounds just in time to run another half marathon this weekend with a couple of my chilanga friends, Suzanne and Lisa. Ay! But at least I won't be at 30 weeks gestation and carrying an extra 15 pounds around my girth this time. Silver lining.

So back to this house-I-haven't-seen-yet. I've been flipping through multiple issues of House Beautiful and am gearing up to stare at paint chips at all hours of the day. There are few things in life I love more. Kinda can't wait.

Did I tell you I am planning on throwing an uber Mexican housewarming party when we get back to the States? I am. And you're all invited. I've already started googling mariachi bands and shady taco stands in the area. I might even pick up a few of those illegals always hanging around I-45 looking for work to have them mill around my place and up the authenticity factor. You won't want to miss it, amigos.

So let me see if I have a few pics to leave you with...

So happy that you got a new house! Way to raise the bar what the heck are you getting next year?!
But yes I want to see where I'll be visiting next year so hook us up with some pictures. Do you have a date that you are moving? And that little baby of yours is a DOLL! Love him is it me or does he remind me of L?

First off, can I call dibs on one of the mariachi band members all for myself? Also, the first house we bought my husband bought without my seeing it. Such trust! And all in all, it was a good house, but my husband just isn't such a details person. It's near impossible for anyone to be as type D- as my husband so I'm sure your new place will be great!

Yeah!! Sounds like it was a great Birthday! I talked with Brooke just 2 days ago and she said she had a great time! So you have nothing to worry about she still loves you!!
Where is this houes? I hope I get at least a glimps of your wonderful family before we are off on our ex-pac adventure! Plus I could really use some shady tacos right about now, as long as I have some heartburn medication! This pregnancy is killing me!
XOXOX to you and your family! Miss you guys, and hope your return goes well for you!
