We flew in Thursday night and stayed with our friends, Suzanne and Scott, and their four cuties. I drove to Target Friday morning to get a few things and felt like I wanted to camp out there and make a bed for myself in the Home and Bedding section. Until you have lived outside of the U.S. and existed without a Target within driving distance, you cannot know the euphoria of "coming home."
Shortly after rendezvousing with Target, we hopped in the car and headed to Sedona.

Hooray for signage that makes sense.

Clearly marked exit and on ramps. So lovely.

Tilly was all packed up and ready to go with her cute little purses and bags and stuffed friends.

The red rocks of Sedona.

Suz holding EZ.

Lisa busy eating. We don't know where she puts all that food.

"UFO Night Tours." Right across the street from a "Psychic Center." Sedona is full of crazies.

Came to Tlaquepaque (a little boutique shopping center) to pick up our race packets.

Checking out the competition walking away, race packets in hand.

Apparently this is where people come to find their zen. Something about spiraling spiritual energy that swirls around this point in the earth... or something. Quien sabe.

Blue sky and clean air. Finding my zen already.

These were the ugliest race t-shirts.

"Assembled in Mexico."

Behold, the beautiful red rocks of Sedona at sunset.

I cannot fathom how people buy into this stuff. And how do these guys stay open for business?

Race day morning! We are FREEZING our patooties off out here. I'm a total cold weather wuss.

No pictures of me actually running the race. Bruce was busy dying from a throat infection in the hotel room with EZ. But post-race! We are so happy to be done! (Bagel in hand - they were the yummiest.)

Suz and her familia, cheering her on.

So thrilled to be finished with those hills. Ouch!

After the race, we went to check out Montezuma's castle. What I want to know is how they kept their babies from falling off this cliff face. I'd be a total stress case.

EZ was here.

More blue sky!

Bruce was here, too. But um... this is the only pic in which he appears the whole weekend. Oops.

Suz and Lisa. My running amigas. And I can't believe I didn't get a pic of our pre-race day meal the night before. It involved lots of chocolate and sushi. We might be on to something, fellow runners.

And just one last little shout out to Bruce, my biggest supporter and hugest fan. He was super sick all weekend and could barely walk from the car to the hotel room, but he didn't complain once about being there to support me in this race and take care of our little nursing babe while I ran 13.1 miles. At the end of race day when I could finally lie down in the bed and put my feet up, he reached his hand over my arm and, in his feverish state, whispered, "I'm proud of you. Great job today." Happy heart day to me.

Wait a second.
So, you ran one half marathon while pregnant. And then another like 4 days after your baby was born.
I haven't been to the gym since little Q was 8 weeks into his womb development, & he's now 5 months old.
Bless your heart. Although this looked like the place to do it if you're going to actually do it (crazies & all - they keep things interesting, no?).
That little EZ, man- he's such a cute thing! I just want to squeeze...
So glad you guys had a great race! You all look fantastic and it sounds like you did amazing! You really ready for a full?
