one gift wonder

B doesn't ask for a lot. He hates birthday parties and is always worried about Bruce and I becoming poor so he doesn't often ask for gifts. If he says he'd really love to have something, he always tacks on, "But Mom, I don't want you and Dad to get it for me if it will make you poor."

But he only needed one gift this year to make all his dreams come true.

My kids are spoiled. But I also like to think this provides me leverage for future parent-mandated consequences. "Oh, you don't want to practice the piano? Fine with me. I'll just take that iPod touch off your hands for the next week. I've been wanting to play Angry Birds."

So it has been great catching up on your blog. I love all your pictures. Your kids are so cute and you look amazing.

I can't believe that B is 8 already. Congratulations to him on reading the Book of Mormon. I am happy he made his goal of finishing by the time he was 8. What a great guy.

I also like to use the itouch, computer, candy or whatever is being played with for leverage.

You guys are doing a great job. You have an awesome family. I am so glad you have a kid older than mine, I get a lot of good ideas from you guys. Thanks for being a great example!

I hope you have a wonderful holiday!
