pillow talk

Photobucket

I laid down in L's bed last night as we were reading scriptures. He crawled under his covers and sidled up to me so our foreheads were almost touching. We stared into each other's eyes for a moment. Then a strand of hair fell across one of my eyes, and he reached one hand up to brush it out of the way. And with the perfect sincerity of a five-year-old boy, he said, "Mom. You are so beautiful, Mom." Swoon. Then he said, "'Cept... 'cept... I wish your eyes were blue." Hmm.

Someday he will grow up and maybe find a set of blue eyes he'd rather stare into. It just might break my heart a little.

awww...still so sweet even if your eyes aren't his color of choice. Those bedtime pictures are so sweet. They must make your heart melt looking at your little brood!
