el supremo

My dad is one of a kind. Whenever he was in charge of FHE, it was usually something medical-related. Sometimes he would make us pretend we were paraplegics. We'd have to crawl around on our elbows like we were paralyzed from the waist down. I think it was supposed to help us appreciate something. Other times, we'd practice fire drills or what to do if your pinkie finger got cut off. This is why I will never look at baby carrots the same way again.

I also think he was the only dad at the playground that would climb up the tops of those tunnel slides and swing across the monkey bars. And I'm positive he's the only grandpa that does this, too. He's also the master at handing out warnings. Like, "Don't ever run with toothpicks in your hand, because you might fall down and poke your eyes out." He's so serious, too, when he says this. For this reason, he has been nicknamed "Beatrice" by his children, because he worries like an 80-year-old woman.

His birthday was a few weeks ago, but I prefer to think of myself as 50 weeks early... happy birthday, Papa! You are the one and only EL Supremo.

This is somewhere in England, I think.

He's carrying my sister's baby in that blue bag there. My sister surprised my mom for Mother's Day by flying down. My dad was in on it. Looking sneaky about it. And a little creepy, too, actually... what with the baby in the bag and all.

In Peru with their tour guide and a sweet sweater vest.

Like a pack mule. He feels the need to carry everyone and their mother's bags, hold doors open for every old lady that walks by. So chivalrous, but alright already. Seriously, how can you not love this guy with his 20 bags, binoculars and head phones on. He's the reason I heart nerdy guys.

My dad makes life too easy for my mom.
