I am flabbergasted. Literally floored. My baby is now a toddler, and I'm so heartbroken.
I am not really a party person. People don't believe me when I tell them Bruce is the real social butterfly in our relationship. But I don't really do birthday parties, I don't bake amazing cakes (or any cake at all sometimes), and I have even been known to forget a birthday... !! But several months ago as Bruce and I were preparing to leave Mexico, we said, "Wouldn't it be so hilarious if we went back to the States and threw this huge Mexican party?"
So we rented a tent, tables and chairs. We blew up two bouncy castles in our driveway. We bought a piñata for the kids and a piñata for the adults. We hired a mariachi band. We convinced a taco truck to come set up shop in our backyard and ordered tres leches cakes from a bakery on Airline Drive. And we invited over 100 people...
Did you catch that manic look in my eye? This party was legendary. (And I hope a few of my friends got better pics than me.) But the best part of the whole affair? I actually loved every single part of planning this shindig to the party itself. That, my friends, is a miracle. Feliz cumple, EZ! Viva Mexico!

i know that manic-ish look! oh my gosh noelle, all i have to say is..."i knew you had it in you." way to throw a party. that might be the bestest 1st birthday party i've EVER seen.

How awesome! Has it really been a year? Good job, N, and on top of it all, you've done so much this year. like half-marathon, marathon, weddings, and move back from Mexico.
holy smack woman!!! talk about setting the bar for 1 year old birthday parties. that might could be the next MTV show from "my Sweet sixteen!" now that's a way to make a name for yourself on your street! LOL

oh.my.word.!!!! I don't even know what to say! You guys are amazing! That party looks so, so fun. I can't believe you found a taco truck! How in the heck do you find one of those in the States? I could really use a good pastor taco right now. Happy Birthday, little man!

Happy Birthday to your little man! I bet all of your kids had the best time, and won't before getting it anytime soon. What on earth are you doing for L's party? I loved the taco stand are they as good as the ones we had while visiting you? Ohhh I need to go find me some tacos now. Great Job girl!
